my gg grandfather Joah SMITH b 5 may 1845 Heaton Cumberworth was the illigitimate son of Elizabeth SMITH b c1824 Cumberworth,(and possibly James KENYON.)
Joah was brought up by his maternal grandparents Robert b c1796 and Julia b c1798 SMITH nee IBBERSON.
their children were
Allen (born IBBERSON)1817
Nancy 1820
Benjamin 1822
Elizabeth 1824 ( my ggg grandmother)
John 1827
Amelia 1829
James 1831
Henry 1833
Ann 1835
George 1837
all born cumberworth
the family were weavers.

elizabeth later married James KENYON and had more children
Joah SMITH Married Elizabeth COLEMAN and lived in Lower Wortley. continued the weaver profession.
