15th April 1989.
The darkest day in the history of British Football.
At the FA Cup semi-final between Liverpool and Nottingham Forest at Sheffield's Hillsborough stadium, Liverpool fans were crushed on an overcrowded terrace, tragically resulting in 96 deaths of men, women and children. Hundreds of others were badly injured, many still bear the scars, and families continue to mourn those who were lost.

20 years Special Tribute to the 96 who died that day.
On Wednesday last week, 15th April 2009, at Liverpool's Anfield Stadium, about 30,000 people gathered for a special memorial service. A two-minute silence was observed in Liverpool, also in Sheffield and in Nottingham, at 3.06pm, the exact time that the disaster occurred 20 years ago. At Anfield, a candle was lit as each of the victim's names was read out. After the silence, church bells rang out 96 times and could be heard from all around Liverpool, followed by "You'll Never Walk Alone" sang by a choir.

To the families that suffer everyday with the loss of their loved ones. For me personally, those from Ramsbottom who lost their lives.
