born Thornhill but I can't find him at all.
His was the son of James Smith.

Henry married Isabella Butcher.

His father James may well have died in
his early life, mid 40-50's. I cannot find
his birthplace either. The Butchers came
from Kirkburton to Thornhill. Did the
Smiths as well?

One thing is certain, the Smiths
moved to Thornhill from elsewhere.
