Summary of Interests/Message
I must admit my heart sank when I
discovered that my great great
grandmother's name was Mary Smith!!

All I know about her is that she was
born circa 1829 in or around the
Withnell area of Lancashire.
She married Thomas Woodburn
at St Paul's Withnell in 1849.

According to the certificate her
father was Joseph Smith, a quarryman.

In 1841 the family are living in the
Abbey Mill (Abbey Village) area.

From that record I discovered that
Mary had an older brother
Joseph (b circa 1819) & 3 sisters,
Ellen, Esther & Nancy
(born between 1822 & 1826).
Obviously there could be more siblings.
Her mother must have died before
that date, so I don't know her name.

I am hoping to find more about my
Mary Smith's family.
