Hi Carole

What glorious weather we are enjoying here in England! I could almost convince myself I was back in Spain. Everything is so green under the blue sky it is really beautiful. Our wisteria was in flower when we returned so that was a lovely 'welcome home'.

I look forward to hearing from everyone again soon, Gillian

It's been hot here in Lancashire as well Jean, but not as hot as Eygpt, but that was a differnt hot.

Yes I'm back off my holidays. Eygpt and a nile cruise was just fantstic. Don I have photos to post but as yet they as still on Ivor PC and I need to transfer them on to the laptop.
What can I say the weather was hot and sunny, the boat was lovely, the food was so good that I put on 5lbs, the laughter with the new friends we made. Not another temple and a tomb was the guides catch line. I felt so well whilst there but the day we went to the valley of the kings and queens was hard and I had to challenge myself to complete that day. I had bartering lessons from Carole as she was an expert and I enjoyed doing that. It took me three quaters of a hour to buy a hand bag!

Hi Maxine!

Welcome home and I am glad your holliday was a success. 3/4 hour to buy a handbag!! That would certainly curb the amount of money you could spend in an hour wouldn't it!! Looking forward to seeing the pictures soon. Cheers Gillian

Hi Maxine

Great to hear that you enjoyed your holiday. Looking forward to seeing your photos. My daughter Kate went to Eygpt a few years ago and she loved it.

Hi everyone

Well, the wall to wall sunshine seems to have passed by now and has been replaced by wall to wall cloud!. At least it is dry at the moment so that is good. Let's hope the good weather returns before too long.

My husband is in hospital today for an operation on his hand - a condition he apparently inherited from Viking ancestors! He should be well enough to come home tomorrow but I expect him to be somewhat incapacitated following the surgery. I think I shall be kept busy as a sort of valet/nursemaid as well as being ''chief cook and bottlewasher'', not to mention chauffeur, gardener etc! At least I have had plenty of practice over the years!!

Cheers Gillian

Welcome back all sounds like every one is doing fine. Well I guess everyone except Gillian’s husband who, if I understand is suffering, from an old Viking wound to his hand – broad sword or battle axe? Maxine looking forward to seeing your photos. Please post soon.

Very Happy Hi everyone,

Really sorry I've only just got back online since Sunday night when I switched forums back into normal access. Had a bit of a hectic week. Burst pipe and flooded out bathroom on Monday - oh dear - plumber came and fixed it - but still have the bath panel off - to dry out the soppy floor underneath. But anyway..........

Welcome back to England Gillian!! and Maxine - glad you enjoyed your holiday in Egypt. Will look forward to seeing your pictures.

Yes the weather was beautiful here wasn't it over the last week - got quite a bit of gardening done. It's lovely to see all the flowers coming out isn't it. Still splitting some of my plants to move part of them all into big pots - so that when I move home (whenever that might be!!) will be able to take them with me. It's raining this afternoon - first rain we've had for a couple of weeks I think. Well never mind - at least there'll be no need for the watering can in the garden today!

Have quite a lot of admin to catch up with on the sites, but will keep popping in and out of chat over the weekend.

Luv Carole

Hi everyone

My husband is on the mend now. We were back at the hospital this morning for a change of dressing and have to return next Friday for finger/hand splint to be fitted. However his hand is much straighter now so we hope it will stay that way for a while. For the time being he just has to rest and keep it clean!

Cold and quite windy here this evening. We hope the sun won't be away too long........Gillian

Hi Gillian, I noticed on your Birthday Topic that you mentioned you're husband's hand is much better by now. That's good news.

As for the weather!! What on earth happened! Unbelievable after that red hot weather the other week!

Hi Carole

Well I don't know about going back to Spain just yet. We have just booked a stay in Edinburgh to visit our eldest granddaughter in July. At the present rate we shall require all our winter woollies
