Just wanted to let all of you know that I'm still living and still looking for William H Smith, born in England, Oct 1835. I still think his fathers name was either John or Daniel, and mothers name was perhaps Agatha.
William came to the US in 1842, I would LOVE to know who has parents were. I have looked and looked at census and can NOT, with a clear conscience, come to a conclusion.
of all the names to name a SMITH (WILLIAM) how popular is that? lol

Great to hear from you. Well you have made some progress because you now seem sure of William's exact month and year of birth. So that's good news!! I've pinned this new topic to the Calendar for a few days.

And here is the image of your William (which you posted last year some time when we were all experimenting on the "imaging practice" Topic). So thought would add it.... who knows - someone else might recognise him!!

Emigrated to America about 1842.

Hello from America.
I am the direct descendant of a William H. Smith who was born in
Dec of 1835 and came to America in 1842 when he was 6 or 7.
He lived in pennsylvania and married Elizabeth Deal.
I was wondering if you had come across any information on
MY William Smith during your searches?
As you already noted, William Smith is about as rare as rain
so my search is also fruitless so far.
Any help?
