| Good Morning Chatters, We are building up to the big day - Halloween, but more on that tomorrow. This weekend my wife and I took a leisurely drive through the countryside. It was a beautiful fall day. On our travels, we happened upon the roadside stand shown below. Their main stock is locally grown produce, jams, honey, and local crafts. We came away with two jars of preserves (blueberry and cherry) and a freshly baked cherry pie. Yes, that is a chair.... There were larger pumpkins ... And what can you say about such a lovely face... Do you have roadside stands like this where you are? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Don

| Hola Don! What a wonderful roadside stall you found. If I had come across that I would have come away with armfulls of stuff I guess. Spain doesn't boast such roadside stalls but has huge Sunday markets in the countryside where you can buy everything you ever wanted and lots that you didn't!! They are so big that it is easy to get lost in them and there are lots of 'cafes' so that you can be refreshed before you find yourself again. They are a great social occasion and we nearly always leave with a bag full of something that we didn't know we needed! | Hi We don't have road side stalls, but we do have a "Farmers Market" every month which is set up in the main shopping area of my town. They sell all local produce. We also have a "French Market" sometimes which sell a lot of different cheeses and leather goods. You can also go down to the Vale to the farms and pick different fruits in the summer. Jean |
