Continued from above [Steps 10 to 15 updated 30th April 2009]Instructions from here apply to image URLs from either
Servimg or from any other image hosting server.........[10] Go back to your topic posty at the forum.
[11] Click on the "insert image" icon at top

A "Script prompt dialogue box" asks you to "enter the image URL here".
[12] From that field - delete "http://", then paste the image URL
(which you copied either from your servimg page
or from another image hosting server)
[13] Click - OK
The image should then appear in your posty
[14] before you click "send" to post your message, preview your post to check that the image is not clickable/hyperlinked to your image server.
If it is clickable, please do the following:-...... In the posty - left click on the image to highlight it.
...... Then, in the icons menu at the top of the posty - left click on
(remove link)...... The image should then no longer be clickable.
[15] When satisfied with your message and the image/s included, click "send" to post it.
Note: Depending upon your own PC security settings, when you click on the icon
,you might see a yellow bar at the top of your browser - click on it and select"temporarily allow script" - then again click on
You will then see the "Script prompt dialogue box" - then continue from step [11]~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~If you'd like to practice as much as you like - where it doesn't matter if you make a mess!! or to ask the moderators for further help, please go to the old "sticky" topic on Chit-Chat Board..... >> Inserting Images Practice >> ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Some important things to remember:Once you have inserted any image in a Smith Chat post.......
in order for it to remain in your post, you
must not remove that image from your image hosting server. If it is removed from your hosting server, the image URL will then no longer exist, so your image will disappear from your post, replaced with a red cross.
Never copy and paste images directly from another website.First get permission from the other website to reproduce their image, then save it to your own PC - then upload it to your own image store. Give credit by including a link to the website who have allowed you to use it.
