Hello everyone,

We have had 9 babies on Saturday 11th May. Mum and aunty are doing well. Every time aunty moves away mum drags her back into the nest, almost like if I have to do this you can too.The babies are born naked and with their eyes closed.

Hola Maxine and family!

Congratulations to Mother Ferret and Aunty!.....Presumably there is a Father Ferret about somewhere?....or is there something I don't know about ferrets? Is father a hazard to baby ferrets? Does he have to be kept separate until they are older? I hope they are all doing well. Gillian

Well congratulations. How long before the babies are able to get along without mom? Will you be keeping them or will you put them up for adaption?

Hiya all

Dad, Gimp, is in his own cage well away from them,as we where not sure what he might do and being her first litter we put him away. You can leave them living as a collony.

The kits are like kittens and puppies about 8 weeks before they are fully indepent and weened. Yes we will be putting them up for adoption, we have 5 adults already but you never know we might keep one.
We have lost one since posting the picture of the babies so down to 8 we think but we have not got them out to check on numbers.

When she was giving birth the three males where very excited as though they knew something was going on. We still have 9 babies

Awwww Maxine, just look at the tiny babies!! They are gorgeous! will look forward to seeing more pics of them as they grow. I'm curious - how does Ching your cat relate to the ferrets, do they get along OK?

Maxine, thanks so much for sharing these lovely images of the baby ferrets as they grow. They are gorgeous!!! I know you said you would be putting the babies up for adoption when they're old enough, but will you be keeping any of the babies yourselves?

Yes Carole we are keeping a Gill and a hob. I must upload the pictures I have of them now.
We still dont have eyes open but they are weening at the moment....going to find the card reader.
