| Oh!! thank you for that link Maxine. I've saved the site & will go back to it. My gr.gr.gr.gr. grandad Joseph BANTON was a mariner - he was born & married in Whitehaven, & his daughter Elizabeth, my direct line was born in Whitehaven too. Then they moved to Liverpool where rest of the children were born, & where Elizabeth married George Hughes (also a mariner). Then 1840 - they all moved to Fleetwood. Will post my BANTON line soon, here on our Cumbria board, & the other surname, maiden name of Joseph's wife Margaret (which at the minute has gone right out of my head!!) Thanks Maxine, Carole  |
