St. Michaels Mount Cornwall

Saint Michael's Mount is perched precariously on top of granite rocks that rise majestically out of the sea. St. Michaels Mount was a port and market trading in tin and copper from as early as 350BC.

Originally a Benedictine Chapel, the Castle dates from the 14th century. Access on foot is by the causeway at low tide and at high tide by boat.

The St. Aubyn family owned the Mount until 1964 when it was given to the National trust.
