6 years research undertaken by Allan Morrison, Scotsman, historian and writer, into Elvis's Scottish ancestry. The mythology had been that Elvis's family had been from Paisley in Scotland, and because it was common for emigrants to the USA, to adopt the name of their home-town as their surname, it had been speculated that over time Paisley had become Presley. However, Allan Morrisey traced the family back to Aberdeenshire and the village and parish of Lonmay where in 1713, Andrew Presley married Elspeth Leg. In 1745, their son Andrew (Jnr) Presley arrived in North Carolina, USA.
