Hi everyone

I am looking for more information about the parents and grandparents of Thomas Henry Smith who moved to Liverpool about 1881 and later married Henrietta Milligan in Everton. He was born about 1861 in Co Tyrone Strabane/Breen/Castlederg area - Co Tyrone). He had a brother, Mathew who also moved to Liverpool and married Mary Ann (Minnie) McCormick. Their father was Thomas Smith b 1830 ish possibly in Breen, Co Tyrone. He was a farmer who married Elizabeth McCormick in 1859 in Strabane/Castlederg, Co Tyrone. Thomas's father was Mathew and he was also a farmer.

Does anyone know about this Smith family please? Can you confirm any of this information or correct me on it? Do you know anything about the McCormick family they married into? I would be very grateful for anything because I have been unable to find anyone who has ever heard of this Smith family.

Thank you so much for stopping by to post all this information. We shall have to get it posted on the SW Lancs board and the Ireland board in case anyone who visits those boards knows of the families.

Have you found these people on the census at all? Do you have any certificates ( birth, marriage or death) for any members of the family? It sounds as though you are well informed about them which is always a good starting point! As you are aware information passed down through the family 'folk lore' can sometimes be inaccurate but it is always worth following up.
