Hi Carole, every time I find a census record, or any record for that matter, that connects with my family I always save it into a file on my pc (and later transfer the file onto disk).
I would be only too happy to email copies over to any member who would find them useful.
Having recently discovered that we also had Smith connections way back in mid 1730's - I just discovered my 6x g, grandfather b. 1707 married Mary Smith abt. 1730 ish, so now have some more digging and delving to do.
This has come as a big surprise as all that side of my family are from Mum's Cheshire and, until this recent discovery, I only thought we had Smith's on Dad's side in Liverpool. Elizabeth Smith married James Smith (my g. granddaddy) in 1870 Liverpool but I'm having problems finding out anything about her, apart from her father being Thomas Smith.
However, as I just logged into the forum I was loading up my family history notes when I spotted the 1881 and 1891 census records on the sheet and, low and behold, there's a Mary Smith widow 60 and James Smith 27 living at the same address as my people.
Now I know my g. gran, Elizabeth Smith had a brother James so this looks very promising.
Sorry, I'm rambling now - so, this now looks like the Smith's were connected in some way (hopefully related) to my family.
If I'm correct this will also point to my g. gran and her family as being of Irish descent.
P.S. I love the new format of the site, the opening pages are absolutely brilliant.
