After chellin had posted a Topic about "Blackpool rock" on our Chit-chat board........
I wrote:
....... PS; I know that the singer George Formby was before our time! but I remember when I was a child - loving listening to a song of his "with my little stick of Blackpool rock". I bet my dad remembers the words - I'll ask him, & if so - will write it out!! Laughing

Can't remember where George Formby was from - was it somewhere around Rochdale or Bury? (we should start a board for "famous Lancastrians"!!)

Found the info I was after about the singer....

I'll start saving those javascript links for more of George Formby's comical Lancashire songs from that lyricsdownload.com site, & for other singers like - Gracie Fields (born Rochdale) and have a change of display every couple of weeks!!
