Parliamentary Blues.

I got those parliamentary blues woman.
And there pulling me down.
I got those parliamentary blues baby.
Wear my troubles like a crown.
If my blues get any deeper honey.
Think I’ll just give up and drown.

My Levis showing holes now.
Where the knees they used to be.
My shirt aint got no elbows.
And my arms are hanging free.
Feet sliding all around.
I got no laces in my shoes.
Toes pointing through and tapping.
To those parliamentary blues.

I got those parliamentary blues woman.
And there pulling me down.
I got those parliamentary blues baby.
Don’t wear no smile just wear a frown.
If my blues get any deeper honey.
Think I’ll just give up and drown.

They took away my house.
The man he says I’m repossessed.
Then he towed away my wheels.
For all the taxes they assessed.
Now I’m sitting here and crying.
Singing it’s a crying shame.
The banks lost all my money.
And they say it’s me to blame.

I got those parliamentary blues woman.
And there pulling me down.
I got those parliamentary blues baby.
Wear my troubles like a crown.
If my blues get any deeper honey.
Think I’ll just give up and drown.

Kicking heels and treading water.
On this ocean of despair.
Mr Brown they say will save us.
But then so did Mr Blair.
Now the tide has turned against us.
And we’re drifting out to sea.
While the banks are thrown an anchor.
And the rest are all cast free.

I got those parliamentary blues woman.
And there pulling me down.
I got those parliamentary blues baby.
Wear my troubles like a crown.
If my blues get any deeper honey.
Think I’ll just give up and drown.

My family are like stars in the night sky of my life.
Always there at the end of the day.
The light of their love forever constant as the Northern star.
Safely guiding me home.
Dreams are the realities of tomorrow.
Everyone is in tune with the spirits of their ancestors. Unfortunately some are tone deaf.
