Father’s Day.

I write this for all fathers.
They all know who they are.
Who care to spend their time this day.
With their children, not the bar.

I don’t write condescending.
I know for I was one.
I write in admiration.
Missing all that now is gone.

Do I deserve a card today.
I wish I could say yes.
But the answer is not left with me.
The children make me guess.

My family are like stars in the night sky of my life.
Always there at the end of the day.
The light of their love forever constant as the Northern star.
Safely guiding me home.
Dreams are the realities of tomorrow.
Everyone is in tune with the spirits of their ancestors. Unfortunately some are tone deaf.
