PostSubject: Trying to eliminate Ann Smiths b.c1800 Altham area (98-MBL)   Sat 1 Mar 2008 - 18:41

Ann Smith married James Clough 28 jun 1819 at Altham. She says on censuses that she was born at the turn of the century. She was catholic. A kind person has identified an unmarried Ann Smith, 1841, Great Harwood, dau of William, so I can cross her off. Richard and Alice Smith had Ann 9 aug 1797, John and Isabel had a daughter Ann 1790, but there is a gap in their children about 1800. (John, William and Richard are brothers, sons of Thomas Smith and Jennet Giles) There is another Ann bap at Dunkenhalgh, dau of James and Ann, 11 aug 1799 and I think she is mine, but James is not brother of the above 3, as their brother James married Ellen. I do not know who this James is. If anyone can definitely cross out any other of my Ann Smiths, I'd be very happy, marie87

Hi Marie,

As you can see I've moved this to its own little Topic so it will be more noticeable, and also have pinned it to the Calendar. Fingers crossed that others will be able to help you eliminate any Ann Smiths. So at present I'm understanding that you mainly would like to find anything else on this Ann Smith...........

but also anything on any other Ann Smiths of similar age in East Lancs. If I come up with anything, Marie, I'll certainly let you know.

Any other members any data to share for other Ann Smiths of similar age in East Lancashire records? good stuff!!
