Hello laslynnelas,

Thanks for telling us about the info you're seeking.

From the little you've been able to tell us, this is not an easy one!! But - if you have any known first names of your Smiths and approximate date-range for their births - it might be a good idea to start looking for those in GRO Births Indexes. Do you have access to these indexes? They are available online - please tell us if you need further details.

Otherwise - Am I correct that you do actually live in Oldham yourself now? and if so - have you tried Oldham Local Studies Library for Electoral Rolls and Directories?

We'll help all we can, please keep us informed.

Chat again soon,

Carole :wave2:

thank you for the warm welcomes, hope you all have a great day lynn x

wave Hello lasylynnelas,

Hope all is going OK for you. I've moved your Topic above from the Introductions Board where you originally posted it, to where it belongs, here on the East and South-East Lancashire Board.

Have you made a start on tracing back your Smith family, or are you still needing guidance on how to make that start?

Would be really grateful if you could post here again & tell us where you're up to with it, and then we can see what help we can offer.
Hope to hear from you soon good stuff!!

Carole
