Smiths of Dumfries, Scotland to Bolton Le Moors c1831

William Smith (born 17 Apr 1791 Dumfries, Dumfries, Scotland) married Margaret Alison (born about 1784 Castle Douglas, Galoway, Scotland) in 1811 in Dumfries. They had 6 children before moving to Bolton Le Moors, Lancashire around 1831 where they had another couple of children.

In 1833 they emigrated to Australia on the "Brothers" without their 4 eldest children Jannet (married Robert Todd), John (married jane Eliza Smith), William & Alexander (became a Lt Col & killed in the China War).

William's father was John Smith born about 1755 in Dumfries and his mother was Jane Oliver.

Have a large body of information on descendants in Australia but nothing beyond the above in Scotland. I would be thrilled to hear from anyone researching the same twig of the family tree.
