Hi,
I struggle sometimes to get to use the computer (games mad husband and three sons similarly inclined) so it has taken me a while to get around to writing this.

I have gone as far back as I can along my mothers side of the family and thought I might have reached a dead end until I found your site. My GGGrandfather was named Robert Smith born around 1838 ..

He was a stonemason and the lived for a time at Blackburn Rd Great Harwood and then to 13 Clinkham which I believe is now Edge End row.

His wife was Margaret and his children were James, John, Mary Jane and Isabella. I derived this information from the 1871 and 1881 census'.

Mary Jane was my GGrandmother, married twice becoming a Sellars then a Tootle.

Its Robert and Margaret Smith now have interest in if anyone out there can help.

Hi Lynn,

As you can see your Smith Interests message has now been moved from the "Welcome" board to its own Topic here. And I've just written to you at
Smith's from Gt Harwood

I think I must have registered twice. I apologise for the error... but I had trouble logging in and many attempts failed to work..I think it was because I tried to change my user name...ie my full email address was being displayed as my user name. I dont know whether I have overcome the problem.. but I am now allowed to log in
Many Thanx
Lynn
