Thomas Hamilton Smith England to Australia(after 1871) | CK40 wrote: | Hi, I am posting about Thomas Hamilton Smith from England to Australia I don't know exactly when but must have been after 1871 as he is on the census and before 1885 as he was married to Alison Helen McGregor in Tweed Heads, New South Wales Australia in 1885. He was a master mariner and sea captain, he took over his father-in-laws position as Pilot Officer at Tweed Heads after he arrived in Australia.
Thomas' father was the Reverent Daniel Smith who was born in Colne, Lancashire and his father was Thomas Smith a cotton manufacturer I think from Colne, Lancashire and he married Mary Knight.
I would like to be able to find out more information on Thomas Smith.
