married Hugh Whalley @ St James, Accrington 1884.

Has anyone any links to this Smith family, or any info at all.

Am I right in thinking you haven't got Sarah Ann's parents' names yet? I haven't checked yet, but just wondering if Accrington St James is on Lancashire OPC for that date yet? Will check.

Hugh Whalley b 1863 Enfield, Clayton le Moors, appears to have married Sarah Ann Smith 1884 St James Accrington.
I have no idea about her parents or where she was born.
I believe that they had three sons.
William Whalley b. 1885 Accrington
Thomas Whalley b. 1887 Burnley
Joseph Whalley b. 1889 Colne

Sarah does not appear on the 1891 census and on 1901 census Hugh is living with his sons and sister in Clayton le Moors. I assume that she must have died some time between 1889-1891.
Any 'clues' would be appreciated.

I'll see if I have anything that might relate to this family & will certainly let you know if I find any clues to Sarah Ann's parents.

In the meantime - it might be worth you asking Marie if she has any data that could throw some light on the family. Marie is researching Smiths of Clayton and Altham and here's a link to her interests topic on this Board.......
