| On the 2nd of August 1876 James Butler - US Marshall Wild Bill Hickok was shot dead by Jack McCall while playing poker in a saloon in Deadwood, South Dakota.
1865 2nd August the publication of Alice's Adventures in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll. It was soon withdrawn because of bad printing. Only 21 copies of the first edition survive, making it one of the rarest 19th century books. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Smith, Nuttall, Ingham,McDermott and more

| Hi Chellin. Enola Gay. Do you remember the song by OMD by the same name? It was a great song. It was a horendous time but I think without it many thousands more of all our boys would have died. Did you ever have the documentary on your tv about the air crew that went back to Hiroshima? That was so moving. Lech Walesa Leads Shipyard Strike (1980) As leader of the trade union Solidarity, Walesa, a moderate, gained numerous concessions from the Polish authorities before his arrest and internment during the military crackdown of 1981. He was released in 1982 and was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize a year later. In 1990, Walesa was elected president of Poland.
