| Good Morning Chatters,
Below is another Washington DC landmark, although not as famous as others. It is one of the three branches of the American government.
As a clue these following historic figures play a role in the function of this building.
Menes (3200 B.C), Hammurabi (1700s B.C.), Moses (1300s B.C.) , Solomon (900s B.C.) King , Lycurgus (800 B.C.), Solon (638 - 558 B.C.) , Draco (, 600s B.C.) , Confucius (551 - 478 B.C.) , Octavian (63 B., - 14 A.D.) , Justinian (, 483 - 565) , Muhammad (570 - 632), Charlemagne (742 - 814), King John (1166 - 1216), Louis IX (, 1214 - 1270), Hugo Grotius (1583 - 1645), Sir William Blackstone (1723 - 1780), John Marshall (1755 - 1835), and Napoleon (1769 - 1821)

What is this landmark? _________________ Don |

| Yes I think something to do with Law too. Maybe Law and Religious beliefs?? noted Moses - religious leader Ten commandments, etc?? - Jewish and Christian. Muhammed - Islam. Others are Kings and leaders who made Laws??? Perhaps its a Court? and maybe statues or plaques connected with all those folks are there? See you later, Carole |

| Gillian and Carole are the closes to the answer. :>>:
The picture is of the US Supreme Court building. The US Government is composed of three branches: the executive (the President and the various departments that report to that office such as State and Defense), the legislative branch (the Senate and House of Representatives) and the Judiciary (the Supreme Court). In theory, each branch balances the other two. In practice, there is an ebb and flow in the balance of power depending on circumstances, the voters’ attitude, and personalities.
Each of the historic figures listed above are represented in the building. Each was a major lawmaker or made a major contribution to today’s body of law. You’ll find each described under the write-up for the North and South courtroom friezes.

Does England have a legal body similar to the US Supreme Court? _________________ Don |
