| Good Morning, time for another TV series chat.
There are two series I thought would be excellent, both were disappointments.
Horatio Hornblower. The series was never completed; if it was I couldn’t find the final episodes. The acting is a little corny but OK. I listened to the entire series on books-on-tape while commuting to work. If done right, this would have been an excellent series.
Sharpe's War. Another series I enjoyed while commuting but the TV series was disappointing. The casting of Sharpe, Sean Bean, was great but his sidekick, Patrick Harper was poorly cast and supporting cast for troops and crowds was thin.
What are your thoughts on these series or other series that you found disappointing? _________________ Don

| Hi Don I watched Hornblower because Welsh actor Ioan Gruffudd played the lead, I thought it was OK but yes it wasn't completed. In the last series he was about to get married and then it ended. I have never watched Sharpe War's, but one series that I liked called Born and Bred(don't know if it been showed in the states)was cancelled when it could have had more story lines. Agatha Christie Marple is a series I have found very disappointing, the story lines are completly different from the original books and they have even filmed books that Miss Marple wasn't even in.

| Hola Amigos! I am going to be very boring and say that I can't think of anything that I haven't mentioned before at this moment in time. However, I am watching the new series of Waterloo Road (first episode last week) and wondering whether it will come up to scratch this time! For those who don't know it is set in a comprehensive school with larger than life characters and as long you suspend disbelief is entertaining!! Pure escapism I think. | Hi Maxine! Have you ever seen them filming? It would be interesting to be able to watch some of it. Do you think all the filming takes place in Rochdale or do they use other locations? Cheers Gillian _________________ ''What will survive of us is love.'' Philip Larkin |
