Jeremy Brett was the best Sherlock Holmes.
Has anyone seen "Murder Rooms, The dark beginnings of Sherlock Holmes". This was a programme about Arthur Conan Doyle early life, when he was studying to be a doctor. His mentor was Dr Joseph Bell who Sherlock Holmes is believed to be based on.

| Well to cast my vote, I'll go with Basil Rathbone. But as for Watson, I like the one who is cast with Jeremy Brett.
