| Hi Bev,
Ooh will be great to see a photo of your William.
How to upload images & input them to your topics:-
When you go into the "posty" - ie - after you've clicked on either to post "New Topic" or "Reply"....
You see in the posty - top right - little blue banner "servimg". Left click on it....
Servimg will open in a new Tab or Window. It might ask you to log-in. That will be the same as your Smith Chat Username & Password.
You see a Box - "Upload your image" underneath is the field for uploading the file from your computer. Click on "browse" - locate the image file on your computer & select it. That will put it in the field on servimg.
Click "host it"
Give it a few seconds & you're then taken to a new page "My Image" & the image you've uploaded is displayed at the top.
Underneath the image you see a list of URLs. Scroll down to the bottom one under "Direct Links" Under this "Image URL" - Copy that URL. Come back to your posty. Click on the "insert image" icon at top You get a "Script prompt dialogue box" .... it tells you to "enter the image URL here" from that field - delete "http://" Paste into it the Direct link URL you copied from your servimg page. click - OK
The image should then appear in your posty
I've just gone through the process, whilst I've been writing it!! So might as well post the image I just uploaded to my servimg!! A nice flower border!!...........

Let me know if you manage it OK Bev - or if you need any more help. Its very easy when you get used to it.

I would love to have a go at this but my brain isn't functioning well today (see 'all shook up') so will have to leave it for the time being!! I will make a nuisance of myself and try another time. Thanks for every thing Cheers Gillian

| Hi Bev, Maxine, Gillian & JFS,
Bev - I haven't received your image by email, but just seen here that you must have managed to save your image to servimg OK & even though you went wrong somewhere ..... & got the URL here instead of the image..................
...... I've just copied your URL from your message and pasted it into the box that appears after clicked on & this is what appeared
Has this turned out OK? Is this Your William H. Smith
If you have your computer/internet explorer settings set for blocking pop-ups (as I have) - it will be a bit different after you click on as follows......
If you have pop-ups blocked - you will get the yellow bar that appears across the top of your screen & says something like "click on here if you want to allow this pop-up". So you click on the yellow bar & get another little message - something like - "temporarily allow pop-ups" Click on that. Then try again - click on Whilst pop-ups temporarily allowed - you will then get the dialogue box with the field that already has in it "http://" Delete "http://" Paste into it your URL. Click OK. And voila!! hopefully the image should then appear.
Have another go Bev & see how you go on. Otherwise - at least we have got the image here now - as above - that's if its the correct one as intended by you. So - if you still have problems - tell me & I'll copy the image to your William H Smith Topic.
Better just mention too.......... After you've temporarily allowed pop-ups You don't need to do anything else to re-block them. Your computer will auto re-set it after a couple of minutes.
Carole ....
PS - Bev, I've just come back into this message to add this - as noticed that the image I posted above, with your URL was "clickable". That means you'd copied the wrong URL from the list which appears underneath the image on your servimg page..... I'll post more Info about this further along in this thread .. >>> Its here on page 2 >>> (in the meantime - I've now made the image "unclickable" )
