| Good Morning All,
My, it’s been quite here lately. What is everyone up to?
The weather in the Washington DC area has been delightful, in the mid-to high 80’s, occasional rain, and humidity at reasonable levels. This compared to last year at this time when we had weeks in the high 90’s, no rain, and a few occasional record setting triple digit temperatures.
You may remember my earlier mishap with falling branches. Well, I’ve reduced the offending tree to firewood. Since we no longer have a wood burning stove, I am giving the wood (oak – excellent firewood) to Ben (youngest son) and his new bride. They live in Stafford, about an hours drive. We will be heading down there this afternoon with a load of wood. It will take me three trips to move all the wood. I estimate there is about a half cord. _________________ Don |

| Hi Don and all. Back from France and had a great time. Car is still in St Malo though. So all told it's going to put an extra 3 grand on the trip. I have always loved the use of the word cord. How much wood makes up a cord ??? Love to all Daz xxx _________________ My family are like stars in the night sky of my life. Always there at the end of the day. | Daz, A cord is 128 cubic feet of wood. Stacked it is four feet wide, four feet tall, and eight feet long. I’d love to visit St Malo having seen intriguing pictures of the place and it has been the site of some novels I’ve enjoyed. Now why did your leave your car there? It must be a good story. _________________ Don |

| Hi Daz you have been missed! I am glad you had a great time but had you drunk too much red when you forgot to pack the car? Oh dear! a sad story I fear. The weather here is just appalling. At least when it is winter we can close the curtains and not look at it all the time! I am certainly looking forward to going back to Spain for a while.
