Rinso soap powder was created by Hudson's Soap and sold to Lever Brothers in 1908.Lever Brothers made soap at Port Sunlight on the Wirral Peninsular Cheshire.

It was the first mass marketed soap powder but in the 1950's sales plummeted when Tide was manufactured by rivals Proctor and Gamble proved to be more popular.

In 1960 Rinso was revamped and became Sunshine Rinso but eventually by the 1870s it disappeared from the shelves.
