| Here are two new web sites that may be of help in your search of the past.
footnote.com http://www.footnote.com/ This site appears to provide several features but the main one is access to digitized copies of original documents. There is a small membership fee required to access the digitized copies. I am still exploring the other features provided.
castlegarden.org (http://www.castlegarden.org/) Between 1830 and 1892, 73 million immigrants came through Castle Garden in New York City. In 1892, Ellis Island replace Castle Garden and immigration port of entry. This site provides access to ship manifests dating from 1820. (Digitizing the 2 million records is ongoing and appears to be about half-complete.) _________________ Don |

| Don, that "footnote" website is excellent!! I joined their mailing list, so get their e-newsletters so keep informed of new stuff. They seem to be continuing to add new documents/records on a regular basis - so can only get better too! Must explore that again soon. Thanks.
