Does anyone know anything about a place in England called Haven? other than in Cornwall? which is the only county for which I can find any references for a place of that name. So could Haven in Cornwall be correct for the place where Jan Knowlton's ancestor John Evander Smith left his family (Haven in England) when he set sail for America in 1819? Jan sent her interests to the Smith Project in 2005 in view of her interest in Smiths of Douglas, Isle of Man, where her John Evander Smith was born. According to the US census his birth date was around 1798-1800.
