Cook lands at Botany Bay on the 29th April 1770
James Cook was born in Marton-in-Cleveland, Yorkshire, England in 1728 and worked for a ship building firm and later joined the Navy in 1755.
Captain Cook sailed on his ship the Endeavour.
 Captain Cook and his crew landed by longboat at Kurnell Peninslar, Australia on the 29th April 1770.
Captain James Cook died in Hawaii in 1779 in a skirmish.
