Who is watching the Olympics? We are 12 hours behind Beijing so television (NBC has the monopoly this year) has ample time to collect and package a good show. (They also have time to insert far too many commercials). I’m not a sports nut but do enjoy watching many of the events.

Did anyone watch the opening ceremonies? They were spectacular. (They may intimidate bids by potential host cities for the 2012 summer Olympics).

What was your best-remembered Olympics? I liked the Lillehammer, Norway in 1996.

Hi Don

I'm watching the Olympics, just watched GB win its first gold in the women cycling.
Over here its on the BBC so no commercials.

I watched the opening ceremonies on Friday and have to agreed they were spectacular.

The 2012 summer games are being held in London.

I have watched all the Olympics since the 60s, don't think I can name a favourite.

Snap, Snap and Snap

Yes watched the opening ceremonies and the fire works where wonderful.

Yes we got our first gold.

I dont think that I have a favourite either but I do have some memorabilia from the 1984 Los Angeles games that my mums friend sent us.

I'd forgotten about London Hosting the 2012 events. Well I guess the pressure is on London for noteworthy opening in 2012.

Tell me it aint not so, the Chinese tweaking the opening ceremony.

It appears that the little girl singing in the opening ceremony was lip synching. The girl singing kept in the background because she has buckteeth. See http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/othersports/olympics/2545387/Beijing-Olympics-Faking-scandal-over-girl-who-sang-in-opening-ceremony.html

It was also reported on tonight’s newscast that some of the fireworks footage was doctored.

What’s next?

What's next indeed Don! I think the whole thing is ridiculous and its about time the Olympics got back to what it is meant to be - sport and equality, not pushing people into the backroom because they don't look 'the part'.

I hope 2012 shows a different attitude It really should be about the ''fireworks'' on the track etc not the ones in the sky.

Congratulations to Phelps! He truly is a firework to be appreciated!
