Good Morning Smith Chatters,

The Beagle Log will be down for a few days. I will be out of town attending my son’s wedding. Ben and his fiancée are to be married on the beach in North Carolina this Saturday. It will be a small affair just close friends and family. Wilmington, NC is a 6 or 7-hour drive depending on traffic. We will leave early Friday and plan to return late Sunday.

This should be interesting. Everyone dressed up on the beach - tuxedos and sandals. The weather will be in the mid to high 80’s. And, on the most positive note, there are no hurricanes lurking in the Atlantic. It should be a pleasant weekend.

I’ll give you an update Tuesday.

Good Morning All,

We had a wonderful weekend. Wedding went off as planned, all had a great time and Ben and Chrissy are now married.

Our drive to Wilmington on Friday was met with frequent thundershowers. Weather at the beach, Wrightsville Beach, was passing showers. All were concerned about Saturday’s weather. Saturday had passing showers, BUT no showers on the beach. Weather was a bit overcast but turned out to be to our advantage. The temperature was tolerable, given we were dressed for a wedding, and lighting was ideal for photos.

The only downside for the weekend was putting the dogs (Chessie, Hanna, & Bean) in the kennel. This was their first experience away from home. Dulles Gateway Kennel is one of the better ones in the area and we have used it many times in the past for previous pets. You could tell the dogs did not like the prospect of their 'vacation'. Hanna was shaking and Bean's eyes were saucer size. When we picked them up, they were ecstatic, Chessie running around in greeting and Hanna baying as if she were on the track of a rabbit. The dogs survived and were no worse for the experience.
