In the 50's Laurel and Hardy movies were a TV staple. I recall many enjoyable hours watching them. It has been many years since I have noticed any of their movies listed on TV (either broadcast channels or cable). Kids today are missing out.

Where was Stan Laurel born and what was his birth name?

Sorry for my tardy reply. I was occupied yesterday in taking my wife to wedding shower for our future daughter-in-law.

Anyway the answer to the question is:

Arthur Stanley Jefferson (aka Stan Laurel) was born in Ulverston, England which was then in Lancashire but now is in Cumbria, on the 16th of June 1890.
