| I didn't mean to make it that hard. All the actors listed will be in prime-time series on this fall's TV series here in the US. The following is from the Washington Post: | Quote: | Willing and So Very Able, English Actors Begin to Colonize The American Telly
By Lisa de Moraes Washington Post Staff Writer Sunday, September 16, 2007; M01
This TV season, you can't throw a brick in the prime-time landscape without hitting a British actor.
Nearly one-third of the new scripted series on the broadcast networks' prime-time slates are led by actors from the United Kingdom ......
"Everybody's going!" gushed Sophia Myles -- her bags packed and waiting for her work visa to turn up ...
Why do the broadcast networks suddenly crave Brits? Because they're better trained, more open to bouncing back and forth between film and TV, can be had for less than an American actor with the same amount of experience (although that will end as of, oh, now), and any actor who's been around the track a few times and therefore has gobs of acting experience in the U.K. still passes the all-important, Broadcast TV Fresh-Face test stateside.
You know, like Hugh Laurie, star of Fox's "House." ......
[and the article goes on to list specific series]...

What are your thoughts on any of the actors listed? Can we expect any successes like Hugh Laurie's? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Don

| Morning Don, Wasn't here yesterday - so missed the Beagle Log. The only one I know much about at first glance of the names is Anna Friel. She's from Rochdale (Greater Manchester) and became famous in this country early 90's when she played the character Beth Jordache in "Brookside" (which was a long-running TV soap, but finished now). Anna Friel is about the same age as my niece Zoe, who attended Oldham Theatre Workshop as a child when Anna Friel did - so born probably about 1975. I remember that as little girls they were "rabbits" in a production of "Alice in Wonderland", along with other children who have since moved on to bigger & better things. Since "Brookside" Anna Friel has been in quite a few films, including "The Land Girls" - film about the women's land army during WW2. She's been in quite a few films for the BBC. See you later Carole |

| Carole, The article did not identify the show Anne was in other then it was on ABC (one of the traditional broadcasting networks). I'll be on the lookout for her - wish her well. Don ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Don

| Hi Don :wave2: Missed this one. But I love Hugh Laurie in "House". It was strange had first, after seeing him in "Jeeves and Wooster", but I'm used to it now. His partner Stephen Fry has also been in the American show "Bones". JFS |
