| I am not familiar with the series suggested. Please feel free to expand on your favorite.
A quick review finds that Waking the Dead, the cold case unit led by DS Boyd has assembled a team to re-examine "unsolvable" crimes is similar to Cold Case, an American hour-long fictional television show about a police division that specializes in investigating old, unsolved crimes. Both may be offshoots of a documentary television series Cold Case Files, on the cable channel A&E Network. Cold Case Files documents the investigation of various long unsolved murders. The show has been praised for its realism and has served as inspiration for a number of popular police dramas on network television.

Has the Nero Wolf series made it to the UK? This is a lighthearted detective series, set in New York in the early 50's. The acting is interesting, same cast of actors in most of the episodes. The costumes are flamboyant and vintage cars abound. And, the story line is good in most of the episodes. The series is based on a long running series of mystery novels by Rex Stout. _________________ Don |

| Hola Don! 'Nero Wolf' is not familiar to me but it sounds interesting. It makes me feel ancient to hear the words 'vintage cars' and 'the 50s' all in the same sentence!!! Yes, your review of 'Waking the Dead?' is pretty accurate. The insights given both on the case and on the team by the Psychologist, who is part of the team, is one of the main features of each storyline. It is this aspect which particularly fascinates me. I thoroughly enjoyed some of the early series. However I did not enjoy the most recent series because Trevor Boyd's character was taken to an extreme and he was ranting and raving all the time in a most unprofessional way!. If the character 'lost the plot' to that degree he should have been on sick leave in my opinion. On one or two particular occasions the storyline seemed to vanish into thin air and even the actors did not seem to know what the plot was meant to be. I wonder whether anyone else thought the same? Adios, Gillian |

| Hi Don I've watched "Walking the Dead" but I've felt let down by the endings. I prefer to watch "Cold Case". But talking of old shows has anyone ever watched "Ellery Queen". I've read a lot of his books, but you can't seem to get them now. Ellery Queen is the name of the character in the books as well as the author, who were actually 2 men. Bye now JFS |

| Ellery Queen - have not heard of that series for years. I believe I use to watch it but cannot put a finger on it right now. Based on one Ellery Queen web site, the series ran from 1950 to 1976 in various releases. This might make for an interesting DVD purchase. _________________ Don |
