We are always glad to hear about any publications or websites of interest, and we all like to share new information that we have found. Smith Chat is intended as a fun, happy & sharing site, without too many strict rules. But here is a necessary rule that is extremely important -

Please always observe the following:

So as not to infringe any copyright, write your History or related Topics, in your own words & give references to any publications or websites' links that you have studied and/or found your included information.

This also applies to any images you might want to copy to Smith Chat.

About copying images or text from articles on other Websites.

Before posting -
DO ensure that the author/webmaster is agreeable to reproduction of any text or images.

When posting -
DO Quote the original source & the webpage link.

DO Add a tag at the top of your Topic to confirm this has been approved and by whom.

For Images -
DO Add a tag either immediately above or below the Image
(eg: "image reproduced by courtesy of - quote name or website link )

DON'T copy and paste a full article from any other Website.

If you think it would be more useful to give a quote from the Article in its original form, rather than in your own words - then.......

DON'T copy any more than the first 1 or 2 paragraphs from the original source.

After the 2 or 3 quoted paragraphs......
DO ADD "Read more about this at - Title and Link to the Web-page -"

Some Examples.........
Great Harwood History & Genealogy
Burnley - History & Links
CottonTown (Blackburn w Darwen Project)
WRY Local History Sites Links
Journals of Ralph Smith, Mormon Pioneer
